As an avid Vanity Fair reader and a fan of all things Kate Middleton, I very much look forward to purchasing their September issue which promises to feature a full spread on their Best Dressed person of 2012 - not to mention a pieced-together-from-random-bits-of-other-interviews interview revealing intimate details about Kate's life as a Royal wife. She'll grace the cover too. What kind of stuff will we learn? Well apparently Kate and Wills own a sausage maker (yes, this is the sh*t I like to read about) AND they quite enjoy the odd DVD marathon. ME TOO, we could totes be BFFs.
Announced just yesterday, The Duchess of Cambridge has taken the top spot on the magazine's coveted list followed by Hollywood starlet Jessica Chastain coming in at a close second and then - I thought this was a piss take but it's not - coming in at number 3 we have 83 year old New York photographer Bill Cunningham who, it would appear, is more stylish than most of us put together. You better believe it.
But rather than wait for the big VF spread next month, I thought we'd take a look at the Duchess's various sartorial choices right here right now. And FYI, I started with her wedding pics and worked forward, otherwise I'd be here until next week. She really has worn a LOT of pretty outfits. This one here's my personal favourite.
So what do you think, does Kate Middleton deserve this accolade? Yesterday I wondered whether she might be playing it a bit too safe. Still, whether she's got someone making these decisions for her or whether she cherry picks every aspect of her ensemble right down to her Royal knickers, we've yet to see Prince William's missus get it wrong and for that, we say fair play.
The Vanity Fair best-dressed list is voted for by more than 2,000 fashion industry professionals, journalists and taste-makers not to mention those already inagurated into the best-dressed Hall of Fame.
