It's the end of the world!!...again.

Nope, we're actually grand, although it's been about two weeks since the last sign of the apocalypse, so we're due one soon. This, thankfully, isn't it.

A half-mile wide asteroid is going to skim past Earth on Haloween night, and by skim we mean it'll be 499,000 miles away, but in space terms that's very close seemingly.

The asteroid, named TB145, was only detected two weeks ago, and is roughly 280-620m wide.

NASA have said that 'the asteroid is on an extremely eccentric and a high inclination orbit’, and will be the closest a known object comes by Earth until 2027, but despite that startling description they've assured everyone that we're all safe.

While we won't be able to see the rock with the naked eye, we can do so by way of a telescope. Sure what else would you be doing on October 31st?
