Sydney has been hit by several storms this week, but the largest and most ominous looking occurred yesterday evening, and made it look like the world was about to end.
Right, that might be being a bit over-dramatic, but at the very least it looked like there was some form of alien spaceship about to land and demand to speak to the leader, which would be Tony Abbott. We're not sure how well that would go...
Anyway, these images captured as the storm was approaching are pretty spectacular, as they show the squall (a series of thunderstorms) advancing on Sydney, and making it look as though the sky had ripped open.

There were also some breathtaking shots of the lightning streaking through the sky, and, as you might expect, plenty of punters stuck in traffic as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
