A cyber security firm have hit upon an unorthodox form of marketing themselves by hacking into the Twitter accounts of well known companies.

The official Twitter accounts of Netflix and a string of Marvel movies were hacked by a company called OurMine in an effort to showcase their lax password security.

The official account for Netflix US was the first test for 'OurMine'

Netflix's social media team quickly deleted the message but OurMine kept sending out new tweets, becoming a thorn in their side.

Eventually OurMine switched targets to Marvel and hacked several of the accounts for Marvel movies including Doctor Strange, Thor, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

This isn't the first time OurMine has pulled a stunt like this. In the past they've hacked the Twitter accounts of Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, and Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Apparently the best method of protecting your account from hacks like this is to set up Twitter's two step password authentication on your account.
