Oscar nominees have a fierce hard time of it in the run up to the awards - what with them having to be photographed before they're brought for a hob nobbing lunch. Flight of the Conchords' Bret McKenzie (nominated for his ditty Man or Muppet) seems particularly fraught with the challenge of it all.
There were little surpries at the reception: Rooney Mara looked morose, Meryl Streep looked confident, Viola Davis looked a knockout, while Brad still rocked that unfortunate mullet. Brad, you're cool, but you are not The Dude.
Interesting points of note came in the form of, would you believe it, Jonah Hill. The sight of him purposefully thrusting his hands into his pockets and pensively bending a leg was something to behold. This is Jonah making his first red carpet pose. Brings a tear to your eye.
Those also stirring some interest were the weather fronts being displayed across the chests of Michelle Williams and Glenn Close. Michelle was predicting rain, while Glenn was feeling the harsh arctic blast before spring comes in to full bloom.
Also featured: George Clooney, Martin Scorcese, Octavia Spencer, Melissa McCarthy, Berenice Bejo, Alexander Payne, Steven Spielberg, Aaron Sorkin, Jean Dujardin, Kenneth Branagh's Benjamin Button face, Nick Nolte and more...
