At long last they are getting rid of those pesky one and two cents coins which have been the bane of our wallets ever since the euro came in. At least the old school 1p and 2p coins were a respectable size, these little euro cent b*stards are so flimsy it's hard to imagine they are even worth anything at all.

You wouldn't even bend over to pick one up if you saw one, after all they're not even called pennys anymore so they don't even bring you good luck. In fact, dropping a cent coin is almost a relief, as it's one less you have to worry about and try use up on your bus fare.

That's all over now though, as of today the one and two cent coins have been sent out to pasture and have officially been abolished. Well, the phasing out process has begun anyways. Shops will no longer be giving them in change and will round items up or down accordingly.

So what can you do with these bad boys now that they won't be accepted as legal tender?

1. Heads or tails battle to the death.

Hunger Games schtyle. You'll have 50/50 odds of survival after all.

2. Throw at your sworn enemies.

You can get sneaky on it too. Hide in trees and drop randomly on them as they pass by.

3. Get creative!

Sure what else have you to be doing

4.  Glue them to the ground.

Then watch and laugh from a safe distance as people try to pick them up. Although you may be waiting a while...

5. Give them to charity

Or you could just scrap all of the above, realise you're actually a decent human being, and give them to charity. Less craic mind, but definitely more sound.
