Yeah, that's right, it has been 19 years since the Teletubbies first hit our screens. That's the passage of time for you...
Jess Smith, a student at the Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent, revealed recently that she had been hiding a massive secret from all her friends for the best part of two decades: she was actually the baby from the Teletubbies.
The famous face was positioned in the sun in Teletubbyland, looking down on Tinky-Winky, Laa Laa, Po and Dispy as they went about their business, and she was selected from an audition for what turned out to be the biggest role of her life.
Speaking on her Facebook page, she said that "I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I've gained the confidence to come out with it. I am the sun from Teletubbies". She added that other people had been claiming that they were the sun, but she also posted a letter that her parents had recieved from the production company when she was younger that seems to back up her version of events.

While there has been no official confirmation (bar her confession on Facebook), we have to admit that we can see a similarity between the two at least, so she hasn't changed all that much. Speaking to Kent Online, her mother Anji said that she was put in a high chair and was actually smiling and giggling at her father in the footage, who was waving a teddy bear around.
However, she added that despite her fame, Jess only got £250 and a box of toys for her role, as no one could have guessed the success that the show was going to have: "It was just something a bit different to do and we didn't expect it to be as big as it was".
