Far from being just another music festival, Electric Picnic is also well known for providing various different sources of entertainment and one of which is of particular interest to foodies, that being the Theatre of Food.

This year the Theatre has assembled quite the feast, with all manner of chef demonstrations, activities, advice and tips & tricks. Well known chefs Neven Maguire, Paul Flynn, Derry Clarke, Kevin Thornton and Catherine Fulvio will compete in a cook-off, while Eunice Power will once again tackle her massive paella on Sunday afternoon. Oisin Davis, he of Damson Diner and mixologist fame, will get involved in some cocktail making shenangians too on Saturday at 4pm.

As well as the above, a hell of a lot more will be on show with a range of talks, rants and showcases taking place. One piece of advice, show up with an empty belly!

Meanwhile, Lisa Hannigan and Paul Murray (author of Skippy Dies) will join forces in the literary tent for an hour or so of musical musings. Last year, Roddy Doyle and Glen Hansard did the same and it was one of the festival's highlights for many.

Dylan Moran, Aiden Gillen, Sinead Gleeson, Amy Huberman and more are also scheduled to appear in the Literary Tent at various stages across the weekend.
