Yi Ding

Born and raised in mainland China, Yi Ding emigrated to the U.S. at age 11. Shortly thereafter, she was chosen from hundreds of girls to play An-Mei in THE JOY LUCK CLUB, directed by Wayne Wang. It’’s here that she met actress/director Elizabeth Sung who never forgot her stunning performance as the daughter of the beleaguered second wife. Soon after, she starred in THE AMAZING PANDA ADVENTURE which brought her back to China for an adventurous three month shoot in the wilderness during which she did many of her own stunts. In THE WATER GHOST, Yi was challenged by underwater filming and a grueling college schedule. Once again, she delivered a compelling performance in a difficult and emotional role. Yi Ding recently graduated from UC Berkeley. She was last seen in "PAVILION OF WOMEN" opposite Willem Dafoe.
