West McDowell
West McDowell was born in Los Angeles, CA and raised in Las Vegas, NV. West was deeply inspired by the mix eccentric artists, musicians and entrepreneurs of the vibrant Downtown Las Vegas subculture, and discovered his passion to produce motion pictures as an undergrad at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. During 2004, in the midst of his yndergraduate studies at UNLV, he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent various surgeries and treatments of chemotherapy. West won the CineVegas Emerging Filmmakers Award in recognition of his achievements in producing and was cured of cancer during the summer of 2005. After graduating in 2008, he was accepted into The American Film Institute from which he recently earned his MFA in Producing and was the recipient of the Jack Oakie Scholarship. Westʼs graduate Thesis film was recognized as First Place Drama at The College Television Awards and was awarded the Gold Prize in the Drama category on behalf of the Student Academy Awards and in 2011.
