Vegard Sorby

Vegard was born in Norway and graduated from Curtin University in Australia in 2006 with a BA in Film & TV and a First Class Honors degree in Screen Arts. His thesis film as an editor and visual effects artist, THE DEPARTMENT OF NOTHING - based on Colin Firth's published short story - won the People's Choice Award at the West Australian Screen Awards ‘07. His earlier films, SPELL ME FREEDOM and MAGICIAN, have enjoyed official selections and screenings internationally. He also wrote, directed and edited PERSISTENCE OF MIND, screening at the Norwegian Short Film Festival ‘06. A 35mm print of his first AFI thesis film SICK PUPPY is currently being entered into the festival circuit. He has also recently cut music videos for international rock artists THEORY OF A DEADMAN and DROP DEAD, GORGEOUS, and is currently working freelance for CinemaPixel on the Paramount lot.
