Vanara Taing
Before going to AFI as an Editing Fellow, Vanara was a producer at StoryCorps, a Peabody award-winning and Emmy-nominated national oral history project, editing and producing their weekly series on NPRʼs Morning Edition. In addition to her radio work, Vanara also taught a video workshop for teenagers in Brooklyn.
Her short films have screened at New Yorkʼs Museum of Modern Art, the Anthology Film Archives and the Portland Documentary and experimental Film Festival. She holds a B.A. in English from Scripps College and a masterʼs degree from Harvardʼs School of Education. Vanara was awarded the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans and the J. Michael Brinkman Scholarship by the Hollywood Post Alliance.
