Spencer Koobatian

Spencer Koobatian was raised in southern California by a family that placed passion above all. He was able to pursue his passion for filmmaking at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy majoring in Film producing and editing 9 short films which have won various accolades from the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival to the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. He then continued his education at UC Santa Cruz earning a BA in Integrated Critical Practice focusing equally on film theory and production with a minor in Legal Studies. During his time at UCSC he served as an invited juror for the Santa Cruz Film Festival Student Showcase and was an invited panelist and speaker at the Society of Cinema and Media Studies. Currently Spencer is earning his MFA in Film Editing from the American Film Institute and will graduate in June 2015. Professionally Spencer has interned and worked for such creative agencies and production companies as: Digital Kitchen (BMW Unscripted), On The Reel Productions (The Power of the Pearl), Dakota Pictures (BRANDX, Arrested Development), and Soulpancake.com
