Søren Hiorth
Soren believes that every story has a core - he thinks it's his job to find it, and make it appear in every frame on the big screen. He sees himself as a Chef - ""it's my job to present the movie on a plate. Content and looks must be coherent and the final result must always be tasteful and crisp"". Søren worked his way through the ranks of the Danish film and television industry. Von Triers Zentropa Films gave Søren his first paid job, and he thrived in the chaotic and creative atmosphere of the company and worked on numerous productions in the camera and electrical department in Copenhagen, trying to shoot whenever there was an opening. In 2007 he shot the animated short IT CAME FROM THE WEST that won several awards across the globe. The short CIRCO DE COLUMBO which Søren shot in 2009, was nominated for best short at the renowned FEC Cambrils-Reus European Short Film Festival in Spain and most recently, the movie TONNY made it into the Short Film Corner at Cannes 2011.
