Sang Kim
Sang was born and raised in South Korea. In high school, he made his first short film, “BETWEEN HIM AND HIM”, which is based on the love- betrayal incident between his friends. “Between him and him” won Best Camera Award in 1st KBS Youth Film Festival and 2nd Prize in 1999 YMCA Film Festival, Korea. He continued making films in undergraduate, Film Studies, Chung-Ang University, Korea.
During undergraduate, he directed, wrote, and produced numerous short films. “LESSON” screened in 11th LA Shorts Fest. “DREAM LAND” was selected in View of Asia section, Busan Asia Short Film Festival. After graduating from college, he worked as an assistant editor in feature films and assistant director in TV shows in Korea. He decided to pursue directing and attended AFI in the Directing Discipline. Sang was inspired to do “Farewell Jimmy” by the childhood memory of the man who searched for the answer to the question, What do you want to die with at the last moment of your life?
