Samuel Harowitz
Samuel is a graduate of Pitzer College where he earned his BA in both English Literature and Media Studies as well as a minor in Spanish. He has studied in Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Peru. While in Chile Samuel shot a short documentary called MI NATURALEZA: GRAFFITI ON THE STREETS OF CHILE. He also created a series of promotional television commercials for Pitzer College in collaboration with Univision, which were aired on regional television. While at AFI Samuel lensed several short films as well as a 35mm Nike spec soccer commercial and also interned at Park Pictures, a commercial production house helmed by acclaimed cinematographer Lance Accord. He has worked in many facets of the entertainment industry including the United Talent Agency where he worked in the Digital and Online Media Department. Samuel has also tried his hand at producing working as Production Coordinator for BARBERSHOP PUNK a feature documentary produced by This End Up Films. More recently Samuel was awarded a scholarship for his short documentary HOMEBOY INDUSTRIES that was entered in the first-ever Filmanthropy Scholarship Competition. Now that he has finished his MFA at AFI Samuel has begun a career in television working for the acclaimed ABC Primetime show; Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
