Sam B. Kim

Sam Kim grew up with a fascination for cameras. As a five-­year old he poked a hole in a 1970‘s Nikon still camera shutter in hopes to understand how it worked. 20 years later the camera was found in storage and repaired and is now his favorite camera. Whether one frame at a time or twenty four, Sam has found joy in the visual language. From going to museums or to the theatre Sam lives to see the story within images. Since helping to create the first closed circuit TV show in his high school at 17, the first in an SF public high school, he has graduated from SF State with a bachelors in Cinema has been working freelance in the film industry and is currently finishing his Masters in Cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory.
