Russell Bell

Originally from Canada, Russell studied at both the University of Alberta and York University, where he graduated with a BFA in film production, focusing on cinematography. His undergraduate thesis Rock, Paper, Scissors has been an official selection at numerous festivals worldwide and won top prize at the 2008 Canadian Film Festival and 2008 Beijing I.S.F.V.F. He shot the documentary Marianne which was nominated for best short to mid‐length doc at the Hot Doc festival in Toronto. He is an affiliate member of the CSC and has shot numerous short films and music videos in both Toronto and Los Angeles, where he has recently graduated with his Masters in Cinematography at the American Film Institute. He continues to try to divide his time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
