Robert KleinĀ (born February 8, 1942) is an AmericanĀ stand-up comedian, singer, and actor. He is known for his appearances on stage and screen. He has released four standup comedy specials including,Ā A Child of the 50sĀ (1973),Ā Mind Over Matter (1974), New TeethĀ (1975), andĀ Let's Not Make LoveĀ (1990). The first two albums receivedĀ Grammy Award for Best Comedy AlbumĀ nominations.Ā Klein hosted Saturday Night LiveĀ in itsĀ first season in 1975Ā and again in 1978. Klein made his Broadway debut in the 1966 production ofĀ The Apple TreeĀ oppositeĀ Alan Alda. He earned aĀ Tony Award for Best Actor in a MusicalĀ nomination for his performance inĀ Neil Simon's musical comedyĀ They're Playing Our SongĀ (1979).

He is known for his film roles inĀ The Owl and the PussycatĀ (1970),Ā Mixed Nuts (1994), One Fine DayĀ (1996),Ā Primary ColorsĀ (1998),Ā Two Weeks NoticeĀ (2002),Ā How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysĀ (2003), andĀ Reign Over MeĀ (2007). He is also known for his recurring television roles inĀ Law & Order: SVUĀ (2009-2012),Ā The Good WifeĀ (2013-2014), Madam SecretaryĀ (2014),Ā Will & GraceĀ (2018-2019). He has received twoĀ Primetime Emmy AwardĀ nominations for his specials,Ā Child in his 50'sĀ (2001), andĀ Unfair and UnbalancedĀ (2010).
