Rico Gagliano

An AFI alum, Rico received his MFA in Screenwriting. Rico worked

putting pen to paper for MAD ABOUT YOU, a popular NBC TV comedy.

Before moving westward, Rico made his living as a freelance media critic

for the major daily Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and as an assistant editor at

the alternative news weekly in Pittsburgh, PA. To his credit are hundreds

of articles and columns on film, TV, multimedia, theater and his much

loved hobby, underground music. A Pittsburgh native, Rico graduated

with honors from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Film Studies.

His student short films twice earned him Pittsburgh Filmmakers''

Emerging Artist Grants.

Rico has scripted numbers of feature-length screenplays in addition to

three short scripts, ENTROPY, THURSDAY, and DUST, each directed

by Joshua Malkin. Rico''s work earned him national recognition in a

Nickelodeon Script-A-Thon competition, and he continues to work on his

ever-growing catalog of screenplays.
