Rick Wilkinson
Rick Wilkinson, a native of New York City, graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University before going to work for ABC News in the early '80s in the Advertising and Promotion department. Over the next several years, he won awards for creative excellence as a Director/Producer there. He moved into journalism in 1988 and won a total of 3 Emmy Awards, among many others, during an eight-year stint as a Producer for the ABC News program NIGHTLINE. His first short film, GIDEON’’S SONG, made while attending an intensive film production workshop at NYU, was featured on the PBS series FIRST EXPOSURE. A SHORT WAIT BETWEEN TRAINS is one of only eight Second Year productions permitted by the American Film Institute each year, and the winner of the Martin Ritt Fellowship Award for Production. Rick received his Master of Fine Arts Degree from AFI in June of 1998 and is currently developing a feature length version of A SHORT WAIT... among other projects. He is represented by The Gersh Agency.
