Born and raised in New York, Peter attended Columbia University and Beloit College in Wisconsin, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While at college, he became interested in theater and later returned to New York where he studied acting with Herbert Berghof and Geraldine Page. He went on to study with Sanford Meisner for two years, during which time he began dramatic writing. After taking many classes at UCLA Extension and several workshops with Chris Vogler, Robert McKee and others, Peter entered the Masters degree program in Screenwriting at AFI, from which he graduated in 1998. He was a semifinalist in the 1997 Nicholl Fellowship competition and again in 1999. In 1998, Peter won the gold medal in Screenwriting at the Houston International Film Festival and was a semifinalist in the Chesterfield Film Competition. THE WATER GHOST marks his third collaboration with his wife, actress/director Elizabeth Sung. The film has since won Best Dramatic Short at the Burbank International Children's Film Festival as well as the Santa Clarita International Film Festival, the silver medal at the Houston Worldfest, and was a finalist for the George Melies Cinematography Award at Taos Talking Pictures. THE WATER GHOST has also aired nationwide on Lifetime's WOMEN'S FILM FESTIVAL, one of only five films selected to participate. Peter and Elizabeth plan to continue to develop multicultural stories with universal themes that are both entertaining and enriching for all audiences.
