Ozzy Villazón
Ozzy Villazon recently graduated from the American Film Institute, having studied under Jim McBride and joining others such as Darren Aronofsky and Terrance Malick as alumni of the prestigious Directing Program. A native of San Francisco, Ozzy’’s passion for cinema began at age five, co-starring in the theatrical release of the Sundance Grand Jury winner Street Music, produced by AFI Alum Richard Bowen. From an early age, Ozzy pursued his directing education, participating in the Warner Brothers Young Filmmakers program while still in high school. He spent a semester abroad in Madrid, which greatly influenced his directing style and then attended the New York Film Academy. While working at Universal Studios, Ozzy earned his degree in History and directed plays such as Patrick Marber’’s Closer and David Hare’’s Blue Room, honing his ability to handle mature material. Ozzy has directed PSAs, music videos and several shorts, including THE KISS, which competed in Palm Springs at Festival of Festivals. His films LA CAJA MUSICAL, RENFRO, and PHILAMENA have also competed in festivals. He’’s currently developing his feature film, The Day Laborer. Contact: [email protected]
