A recent AFI Conservatory graduate, Omer Ben-Shachar is an Israeli director based in Los Angeles. Following film studies at Israel’’s prestigious Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts, he then served as director and editor in the Israel Defense Forces' Spokesperson's Film Unit for 3 years. His pitch for his graduation film THE PENGUIN WHO WANTED TO BE A KID won Third Prize in Israel's Pitching Contest of the Second Authority. Omer has also won First and Second Prize in Israel's Music Video Contest "Clip Tzair", for his music videos: JOURNEYS (2011, First Prize), WORRIED SHOES (2012, First Prize), ELIZA (2012, Production Design Prize) and ALWAYS (2014, Second Prize).
