Okowita Okowita

Okowita Okowita

Okowita - that's little "o", and it means vodka bootlegger in Polish - was born as a war baby in Amsterdam, Holland. At the age of four, he was imported to the USA and only remembers the flying fish on that journey. During the '60s, he studied advertising, art and architecture at Texas Tech University but found that he was distracted by the hippy sub culture (and there weren't many of them in Lubbock Texas back then). When his car broke down, he quit school and became a draftsman and technical illustrator for an auto air conditioning factory. From there he began a career in film, working through animation, lighting, gripping and decorating to his present function as a production designer. Some of his projects were: TWIN PEAKS, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, MAXIMUM BOB and SEAQUEST. His goal is to end up on Bora-Bora painting.
