Gus Reed

Gus Reed is a director, writer and performer from Cape Cod, MA. He graduated from Columbia University with honors in Film Studies and the Lois Sudler Prize in the Arts for his first feature screenplay, "Wilderness," in 2014. His debut narrative short film "On the Other Shore" screened in festivals in NYC, Boston, Brussels, London and Warsaw. As a independent filmmaker based in NYC, he worked primarily creating video for and with dance, including long-standing projects with the New York City Ballet, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, the New York Choreographic Institute, and the Liz Gerring Dance Company, and Scott Rudin Productions. Since 2016, he has been Senior Editor for The George Balanchine Foundation's Video Archives. He made his Broadway debut as a performer in the 2020 revival of West Side Story directed by Ivo van Hove. After nearly ten years in NYC, he relocated to LA in September 2020 to study directing at AFI.
