Daniel Berkman is a designer and musician that loves art to get lost in. He is a graduate of the UCLA Design | Media Arts program and an expert in graphic design. He worked for two years as the in-house graphic designer at Biscuit Filmworks and has contributed graphic design to several art departments and events, such as Seth Rogen’s Hilarity For Charity. Daniel has worked with a myriad of film production companies designing treatments for commercials and films for a diverse array of directors. Daniel also expresses his desire to create immersive and emotionally impactful art through music. He is a singer/songwriter who performed with his band, Dielines, in addition to various other bands in the LA music scene, before arriving at AFI. Daniel’s passion for production design stemmed from an early age as he found himself compelled to endlessly draw design elements from his favorite childhood films. Since arriving at AFI, Daniel has designed three short films, ranging from Surrealism to Sci-fi. He loves to design environments that are drenched in mood, provide exposition, and add depth to the narrative.
