Prem Santana

Premstar Santana is an award winning filmmaker with over a decade of training and experience in the performing arts. She is the founder of the Moonfaze Feminist Film Festival which ran for two consecutive years in Los Angeles (and two additional years online), showcasing and celebrating female-led films from around the globe. Her photography has been featured on Don’t Smile, a platform showcasing female photographers and in Visceral 8 Magazine. Premstar is her given name but most people call her Prem which means love in Hindi. Prem is currently enrolled at the American Film Institute Conservatory as a directing fellow and is a recipient of the 2021 AFI/Audi scholarship. Her goal is to tell stories from the margins, –stories that push the limits of genre and identity.
