Peiqi Peng
Peiqi is a writer and director from Suzhou, China that lives and works in Los Angeles, recently completed her MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute. After spending years studying Film, Anthropology, and Post-Colonial Studies in Australia, the Czech Republic, and the U.S, she starts writing and directing contemporary female stories, combining social commentary with gore and absurdist elements.
She did script development work for FilmNation, Partizan, and Imagine Entertainment, as well as working on creative advertising for brands (Clif Bar, P!nk) and blockbusters (A QUIET PLACE 2, THE 355). Her short films (ADIÓS MUCHACHOS, SUNTANNED ORANGE) have been screened at festivals including the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival, Chinese American Film Festival, and IFF Boston. She was a recipient of the Andrea Montoni Film Catalyst Fund, and a semi-finalist of the ScreenCraft screenwriting competition.
