Dekang Liu

DK. Dekang Liu is a Chinese director and producer. He finished his BA in Media Arts and Production during his years in Sydney, Australia, and his MFA in Los Angeles at the AFI Conservatory. After college, he worked as an assistant director and producer in Beijing on films and digital series. Being exposed to both Eastern and Western cultures provided Dekang with a specific perspective to understand the cultural interactions as an outsider as well as an insider. He pays special attention to subjects like cultural differences, minorities and social isolation and believes that “in a gentle way we can shake the world,” and filmmaking is the gentle way for him.
