Rebecca Lafon
Originally from France, Rebecca Lafon is a bilingual and bicultural French producer based in Los Angeles. She also acts, directs, and writes for the screen. She is an American Film Institute Conservatory alumna with an MFA in Film Production.
During her time at the AFI Conservatory, she produced 5 narrative shorts, co-wrote 1 narrative short, produced and co-directed a 35mm MOS/Visual Essay, and wrote her first 3 features. She has also produced a queer body-horror coming-of-age short, Lady Parts, since graduating this summer.
Before her graduate studies, she also wrote, directed, and produced Breech, a short film portraying teen pregnancy in Ohio that was awarded in several festivals including the Florence Film Awards, Independent Short Awards, and Trinity Film Festival. Prior to joining the AFI Conservatory, Rebecca also produced and directed Through Resilience and Reliance, a documentary discussing support structures for victims of domestic violence in France during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most of her original work focuses on female-driven stories, but as a producer, she aims to find collaborators who share her passion for creative storytelling.
