Teddy Schaffer is currently earning his MFA in directing at the AFI Conservatory. Originally from New Haven, CT, Teddy earned a BA in English literature from Georgetown University in 2016. He also studied filmmaking for six months at FAMU film school in Prague, CZ. His animated short Wherefore Art Thou, Theo?, which documents his mother’s voicemails during a time of loss, premiered at the 2020 Brooklyn Film Festival and won best animation at the 2020 Indie Street Film Festival. He is currently developing a rom-com feature about two gay men who are best friends until faced with the question of love. He loves to tell heartfelt and humorous stories about characters who are their own worst enemies.
