Joe Gonzales
Joe Gonzales (he/him) is a first-generation Mexican/Filipino-American filmmaker from San Diego, California. He received his BA in Sociology with an emphasis in International Relations at UCSD. After he graduated, Joe became a Student Advisor at the School of Global Policy and Strategy and eventually served in the Peace Corps. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, Joe taught English and found an interest in videography. He began documenting his experience for the next two years, and soon discovered he wanted to become a filmmaker. Now he’s a Producing Fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory. During his free time, Joe loves to practice muay thai, sing his heart out on karaoke nights, and drink winter melon boba milk tea… with less ice.
