Nikki Marie Born

Nikki Born is finally going to big-girl school(AFI) after spending about seven years in and out community college trying to find a career that wasn't film. Before AFI, she spent two years working on student films at Diablo Valley College for her peers and wrote/directed four of her own creations. In the summer of 2014 she founded the Block n' Roll Film Festival in Oakland (to showcase the best of all Bay Area community college films) which was a huge success minus her film, #VIRAL — the only one to have sound problems. Rightfully so. Currently she is in her second year at AFI as a directing fellow with three more short films and a music video for Open Mike Eagle added to her body of work in the last year.
