Miriam Gilbert Showers
Miriam was born in Bethlehem, Connecticut. She has since lived in New York, to, Canada, and has traveled in Italy, Ireland, England, France, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Peru.
Miriam graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in Theatre, and from the American Film Institute with an MFA in Production Design.
As part of her undergraduate studies she attended the National Theatre Institute Acting Program, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Shakespeare Short Course, and the Actors’ Center Summer Conservatory. She has worked in the New York theatre industry, most notably as an intern on THE PRODUCERS; as Road Manager of FUNNY BONES for the Lincoln Center Institute; and as Stage Manager of an original off-Broadway production entitled THE TRAIN PLAY.
In film, Miriam has worked in the Art Department on numerous shorts and five features including WAITRESS (starring Keri Russell) and HOOD OF HORROR (starring Snoop Dogg). She was Art Director on the features SPLINTER (starring Tom Sizemore), and LOVE MADE EASY (with Martin Landau). For Miriam, Production Design offers an opportu ity to explore both the practical and creative sides of filmmaking by bringing the world of the story to life.
