Michael Provart

Michael received his BFA in Painting and Drawing from Cal State Long

Beach in 1984. He is a recognized and collected artist with numerous

solo and museum shows to his credit. Michael worked under Jim Clay

as a Scenic Artist on COPYCAT, has designed seven AFI short films,

including the award-winning FIRST DAUGHTER, as well as Joshua Malkin's

First Year project THURSDAY and Jessica Wethington's SCHREBER. Michael

has also worked on independent short subject films and has directed two

of his own independent projects, experimenting with original and found

super- 8mm footage. Michael is completing his MFA in Production

Design at AFI where he was named the recipient of the Mary

Jane Pickford Award for Production Design.
