Melanie Wainberg

Born in Caracas, Venezuela. Studied Communication with a Minor in Visual Arts at the UCAB. She worked as art director in several short films and in feature film MACHO (IFC). She quickly found her place in directing, starting with a documentary for the foundation of Peace One Day in Caracas. She then wrote and directed several shorts including ES UN DURHOL, a short film that was awarded as Best Venezuelan Short Film in Viart Festival and participated as Special Guest in the Festival Recontres Cinémas d’’Amérique Latine de Toulouse, France. Melanie completed her Master in Fine Arts degree in Directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory.
