Matthew Louis Chevlen

Matthew was born and raised in Los Angeles, California; Matthew earned a BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design in Film / Animation / Video in 2004. After graduation he moved to New York to work for esteemed director, Darren Aronofsky at his production company, Protozoa Pictures. Matthew was asked to come along with the production to the shoot in Montreal, Quebec for pre-production and production of THE FOUNTAIN. Afterwards, Matthew moved back to Los Angeles where he worked as a freelance videographer for Conde Nast, covering photo shoots for Vanity Fair, GQ, and Vogue Magazines. Matthew soon transitioned into the world of music videos working as everything from a production assistant, to production designer, to production manager. In 2008, Matthew was accepted into the director’’s program at the American Film Institute where he was awarded a Fujifilm Grant as well as the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant. Matthew received an MFA from AFI in 2011.
