Matilde Barbagallo

Matilde was born into a filmmaking family: her Mother is a Costume Designer and her Father a Palme d’’or-winning Producer. She took a brief detour from film, majoring in Physics at Rome’’s La Sapienza University, before working as 2nd Assistant Director on Abbas Kiarostami’’s Certified Copy. As a Producing Fellow at the American Film Institute, Matilde has been honored with a Hollywood Foreign Press Association Scholarship in recognition of her talent and achievements. Aside from film, her other passion is sailing: she was the 2002 and 2003 Italian Female Laser Champion.
