Markus Canter

Markus Canter has been working professionally as a production designer on

feature films, short films, commercials and music videos for the

last five years. Most recently, he designed the feature film BLUE TIGER, starring Virginia Madsen and Harry Dean Stanton and is

currently designing DEAD GIRL a feature starring Anne

Parillaud (""La Femme Nikita"").

Mr. Canter was graduated with a degree in theater design from

Occidental College where he also studied architecture and urban

planning. He brings the benefits of these various disciplines to his

film work. After considerable professional work and designing

the Academy Award-nominated film, ""The Last Breeze of

Summer,"" Mr. Canter joined the American Film Institute as a

Fellow in the Production Design program and was invited to

continue in the Masters program, the fruit of which is

HELICOPTER.

While at AFI, Mr. Canter has continued to work

professionally and has designed over 20 films, videos, and

commercials to date, concurrent with a practice in architectural

design.

Mr. Canter is grateful for having had the opportunity to study

at AFI with such fine production designers as Bob Boyle,

Richard Sylbert, and Albert Brenner.
