Mark Allan Kaplan
At the age of 16, Mark Allan Kaplan entered the world of filmmaking with
PROGRESS (1974), an award winning experimental short film. While attending
USC film school Mark wrote and directed two more award winning short films,
GUN (1980) and THE TREE (1981). After graduating from USC, Mark studied
directing at AFI (class of 81), where he wrote and directed the
internationally acclaimed VOICE IN EXILE (1985). For the next several years
he went on to work as a director, writer, producer, and editor in
documentary and dramatic film and television, continuing to develop his
craft and receive accolades for his work. In 1992, he was accepted into the
Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California where he has
been deepening his understanding of the human heart, mind and spirit, and
researching and developing transformative approaches to media.
