Mari Johanna Lappalainen

Mari was born and raised in Finland, where she graduated as an exhibition builder in 2007. She started working for a Finnish set construction and design company, which sparked her interest for the film industry. After three years of working, traveling and living in New York and London, Mari enrolled in a set design for screen course at the acclaimed Wimbledon College of Art in London. During her studies she was involved in various projects ranging from stop motion animation to large-scale feature films. In 2013 she moved to Los Angeles to do attend the American Film Institute where she recently graduated with an MFA degree in Production Design. After graduation she was one of five people selected to the Art Directors Guild apprenticeship program and is currently Production Designing her first feature length film.
