Lavinia Decastro-Walsh
In addition to GOLDENSTATE, Lavinia ""LOLA"" DeCastro Walsh also served as Production Designer for the short film SHOOT THE SAXOPHONE PLAYER, the feature film TENTACLE 8 and television pilot THE LEGEND OF TIFFANY BLAZE. She also acted as art director, scenic painter, motion graphics designer, animator and co-‐producer for several other films.
A native of Brazil, Lola spent more than a decade working as a print and broadcast journalist before turning to narrative storytelling. She was among the first wave of Gannett newspaper reporters nationwide to shoot and edit video for the web. Her award-‐winning videos showcased life on the streets of one of the nation's most violent cities as well as community events and light-‐hearted features. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, where she graduated with honors and earned awards in perspective drawing, life drawing, character design, typography and motion graphics. Lola also worked as a freelance illustrator and video editor for various commercials promotional videos. She is fluent in Portuguese and speaks basic Spanish and French.
