Lauri Mannermaa

Lauri Mannermaa started his career in 1984 in Finland working as a stagehand in The Helsinki City Theatre. From 1986 to 1988, he studied stage management in England and worked in Wexford and Glyndebourne Opera Festivals. He then moved to Philadelphia and after working for a year for a lighting company, he moved back to Finland and got a Stage Manager’’s job in The Finnish National Opera. In 1991-1992, Lauri studied cinematography in Hungary, and in 1993, ended up in The Finnish National Opera again, this time as a producer for the studio stage. After two years and many productions, Lauri left the Opera in 1996 and has worked freelance ever since.
