Kohei Obara
Originally from Tokyo, Kohei started his career as the youngest creative producer in Toei Animation, one of the most prestigious and major animation productions in Japan. His experience in storytelling is extensive, producing/assistant producing more than 9 nation-wide TV shows and spin-off feature films, including a 3DCG ride attraction for Sanrio's (Hello Kitty Franchise) theme park in west Tokyo. His recent work at Toei was DRAGONBALL Z KAI, which hit successfully and is currently aired on Nicktoons in the US as well as networks around the world. The show's high view rate won the 2010 Best Animation Show of the Fuji Television Awards in Japan. Aspiring a broader and international career as film producer, Kohei is graduating from the Producing Program at the American Film Institute Conservatory in 2012, awarded the prestigious Tom Yoda Scholarship (2010) as well as the National Scholorship from the Japanese government through UNIJAPAN, 2 years in a row while learning the core values of creative producing. Kohei collaborates in both native Japanese and excellent English with exclusive knowledge in filmmaking. He aims for a career in the film industry, beyond nationalities, worldwide.
