A native of Central California, Joshua was raised on a steady diet of B-

movies, cartoons, and muppets, all of which are now influences. He

received his BA in visual arts from the University of California, San

Diego with an emphasis in painting, sculpture and videography. While

enrolled, he designed and implemented two public installations,

incorporating film, video, painting and architectural design.

He has independently directed and produced two documentaries. INK, a story

about underground comics, was marketed at several Comic Conventions.

INK, in association with Jim Henson Productions, was created for an

exhibit at Atlanta's Center for Puppetry Arts. INK opened during the

1996 Olympic Games and has screened at New York's Public Theater.

Earlier, Joshua interned in San Diego with the city's Film Commission

Office, and with Left Coast, a commercial production company.

Additionally, Joshua has worked in the development offices of Jim

Henson Productions and as an assistant editor.

Joshua's most recent short project is DUST, which he developed with

partners, writer Rico Gagliano and producer Jessica Wethington. Joshua spends much of his time

writing and developing material and works freelance in the industry while

completing his MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute.
