Joshua Corbin

Joshua grew up in southeastern Michigan where he received a Bachelor’’s of Science in Finance and English from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. While attending, he directed a number of short films and two features in his spare time. As a first year Directing Fellow at AFI, he directed three films: THE INTERN, GRANDDADDY BUCK and THE GINGERBREAD GIRL. His inspiration behind THE ELM TREE originates from a desire to discover a narrative parallel between the vulnerability of the political climate during the American civil war and the curious nature of family strife.
