Joshua Chaiton

Born in Toronto, Josh holds an MFA in producing from the prestigious American Film Institute and a BFA in Film and Television from York University. With Reel Images, his independent production company, Josh has built a diverse portfolio of projects for both the big screen and television. Many of these projects have received national and international accolades, including a Student Academy Award Nomination for his short documentary ANIMAL CRACKERS. When not working on dramas or

documentaries, Josh has worked on a variety of other productions. These ranged from the filming of UN humanitarian relief operations in volatile regions of Somalia and Bosnia to Chicklet's commercials he directed at age 17, which he credits with helping to cement his passion for cinema since his early youth. In the summer of 1997, Josh was selected by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to apprentice with Canada's top filmmakers. Atom Egoyan presented him with the Jay Scott Award for Best Overall Production at TV Ontario's Telefest twice. His documentary ANIMAL CRACKERS premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival and went on to win the David L. Wolper Merit Award from the International Documentary Association, two Golden Sheaf Awards at Yorkton and a Best Documentary award from the Montreal Film Festival. Another film, CORNERBOYS, won the Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival and Silver at WorldFest Houston. Most recently, Josh worked as a creative assistant and development apprentice for Ivan Reitman's Northem Lights Entertainment in Hollywood, acted as a producer's assistant to Dale Pollock on

Disney's MEET...THE DEEDLES and apprenticed under director Ron Oliver on Fox's hit children's series GOOSEBUMPS. Josh is now developing several feature projects, while directing numerous music videos and commercials.
