Joshua Amar

Joshua Amar is a Canadian born filmmaker with a Moroccan heritage. He's a graduate from the AFI Directing program. His films have premiered at numerous film festivals including the Austin Film Festival, where he was the youngest filmmaker to be nominated in competition for BILLY THE KID. In 2013 he attended the Cannes Film Festival with WAVELENGTHS; a film he made in 48 hours. He produced COMPARTMENT; a feature film directed by award-winning filmmaker David Ridgen. He has assisted in writing projects presented to James Gunn and Darren Aronofsky. Joshua is interested in exploring small, emotionally-charged character dramas in a large genre world.
