Josema Manuel Roig

Born and raised in Valencia, Spain, Josema started as cinematograher in indie productions, including two features, one of which, THE GOLDEN GAG, was award- ed in 2010 with the best cinematography award at the Cyprus International Film Festival. For Enxaneta, his last feature as DP has just been nominated for the GOYA AWARD for BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY. After studying screenwriting, he wrote and directed ANITA, his debut short film, selected in the some of most important festivals in Spain. In 2012-13 ANITA was selected in ALCINE, Malaga, SEMINCI and Mecal among others, also winner of BEST DIRECTOR in Zaragoza. His sensibility drifts between the mood piece, intense character driven drama and moral dilemma. Filmmaking is a language he wants to explore as we live in, as an art, as a mysterious experience.
